i read last week a post saying how a player with 2-7 bet agst him with a-a or k-k raising etc and ended up with a straight on the last card losing to the 2-7

this exact same thing happened to me and as i was playing i thought it seemed unusual that despite my raising of his bets he played on

i had a-a the guy plays out and hits his straight on the river

to me it seems unusual that the combination was a 2-7 again and either he knew what the cards coming out would be or im a complete moron and looking for a conspiracy theory

the pot hit 150 so it wasnt like it was over nothing

1. was i playing a program ?
or
2. he knews the cards coming out?

thanks for your thoughts

i will bite.

7-2 beats AA about 15 percent of the time. far from a miracle. when you play poker shit happens. Its a bad beat and would piss me off, but its not a reason to think the game is fixed in anyway.

imo, there is a big reason to think the fix is in if the player holding 2-7 called a big bet pre-flop. if aa slow played and the 2-7 was in the blinds, then the flop came like 4-5-6...there is no reason to think the fix is in.

Hard to tell. Theres alot of bad players out there. Many more bad ones than average ones imo.. Also it would make it more suspicious depending on what size table you were at...0.50/1.00, 1/2, 2/4, l/nl..ect. If theres not much money involved then a stupid player might just say the hell with it, its only gonna cost me a couple of bucks and i might steal the pot if i scare this guys Aces. I would think a "program" would wait for less suspicious moments to rob ya.
